The availability of accurate 3D modelling data for earthwork projects has improved significantly over the last decade however access to high quality data is still not ubiquitous across the industry. Data often comes in a variety of formats ranging from 2D Vector and Raster PDF’s plan sheets to highly accurate 3D models created in proprietary formats. Access to data also varies during the design and construction process with a less accurate initial drawing often being the starting point and more refined 3D models becoming available later in the design process.
Accurately extracting and combining model data from multiple sources and sharing the results in the field and the office at every stage of construction can provide a significant advantage when bidding and completing work.
AGTEK’s unique takeoff and modelling solutions allow you to simply create a digital 3D environment from almost any data source. This includes direct data entry, simple streamlined PDF plan and profile conversions or from CAD designs by fusing data from multiple sources and quickly creating 3D models designed specifically for earthwork projects. And those easily completed takeoffs allow virtually driving and visualizing the model in 3D so you can plan how material should be moved and ensure your project runs smoothly from the start.
Once a digital 3D modelling is available, sharing it with those who need it can often be difficult due to the requirement of having access to a 3D modelling software. To overcome this AGTEK enables all data to be quickly shared via the cloud and converted to a file which can viewed in Google Earth.
The entire 3D model can be downloaded to lightweight mobile apps to provide all plan information directly to your phone. This enables the empowerment of your workforce with georeferenced, navigated information wherever they are.
When the work starts, the same 3D model can then be leveraged for haul planning, equipment tracking and exported to your machine control fleet or survey and grade checking crew from Trimble, Topcon or Leica.
Optimizing the data readily available from multiple data sources, sharing it throughout your organization and taking it to the field can provide significant gains to keep projects on track and get them completed as fast and efficiently as possible.
