The Dirt Simple Express, April 2025

AGTEK’s AI-powered Reveal platform takes its performance to the next level with recent product updates. The Reveal Platform consists of Reveal Maps and Reveal Clean, which work together to streamline your drone data workflow.
Reveal Maps creates 3D point clouds and orthomosaic maps from your RTK drone flights with simple, intuitive, verifiable workflows. Simply drag your photos in, press a button, and compare the results both visually and numerically for high confidence in surface quality. Paired with Reveal Clean, the resulting point cloud is separated using AI into Heavy Construction objects that can easily be removed or edited to quickly give bare earth models for volumes and planning in Gradework.
Recent updates make the workflow even quicker and more efficient. Reveal Clean 2.0 is 300% faster than it was at launch, with greater ability to handle large flights. Other updates include better identification of building roofs, cleaner and improved identification of building materials, and enhanced recognition of curbs.
Reveal Maps 1.2 has significantly increased processing speed, with the greatest gains recognized on larger sites. It has a new ability to change the save/processing location, and an updated street map view. Other improvements include:
- Improved speed and ease of right-clicking on photos view during review.
- Streamlined registration.
- Ability to import multiple point clouds and multiple orthos together.
- Added language support for UK English, AU English, French, German, Swedish and Spanish.

In the fast-paced world of heavy construction, mobile apps for construction have become indispensable tools for enhancing efficiency and ensuring consistency on the jobsite. These apps streamline communication, facilitate real-time data sharing, and enable seamless project management, allowing teams to coordinate effectively and make informed decisions swiftly. By integrating mobile technology into daily operations, construction professionals can access vital information anytime, anywhere, reducing delays and minimizing errors. They not only improve productivity but also foster a collaborative environment where all stakeholders are aligned, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
SmartPlan is AGTEK’s easy-to-use cloud-connected mobile app that allows you to access detailed underground and materials information directly on your device. Walk your site with your cut-fill grid map, plan set, and takeoff quantities mapped into your smartphone or tablet for on-site navigation using the GPS positioning capability built into your Apple or Android device. Without stakes, SmartPlan guides you in closely approximating the locations of grading limits, balance areas, pad corners, slope toes, daylight lines and other plan features, and shows your position on your cut-fill grid map. Watch the short video on our website for more information.
SmartDirt, on the other hand, is all about dirt. The mobile app shows cut-fill and elevation wherever you’re standing based upon your takeoff, the latest drone topo, or the GPS model guiding your machines. It communicates grade and inspects models with 3D visualizations that move with you as you move across the site and lets you document progress with photos and notes. Watch a short video to learn more about SmartDirt.
Recent updates to the program include speed and efficiency enhancements, an added ability to toggle between different surfaces in 3D view, and a new view setting. If you’d like to learn more about mobile apps, contact us.

Construction modeling is the process of creating a digital representation of a construction project. This allows for better visualization, communication, and collaboration among stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
AGTEK’s Gradework enables models to be created based on a variety of data, including PDF and CAD to craft detailed, constructible models. These models facilitate both finished and subgrade construction by calculating accurate material volumes necessary for each phase. The ability to visualize the project as it will appear reinforces the accuracy of the models created, thereby reducing errors and optimizing construction strategies. Our modeling solutions not only focus on traditional tasks like earthwork cut and fill but also enhance planning for material hauls and streamline the overall construction workflow.
AGTEK’s construction software is designed to support various construction machinery, including dozers, graders, scrapers, excavators, and curb and gutter pavers, for all major equipment models and technology manufacturers, including John Deere, Caterpillar, Komatsu, Trimble, Topcon, and Leica Geosystems. Its intuitive interface simplifies the modeling process, making it accessible even to those new to using GPS/GNSS-based machine control systems. With compatibility across various data formats, our solutions cater to a mixed fleet, providing a comprehensive modeling tool for all equipment types.
As the project progresses, real-time data from machine control systems, grade checkers, or drones is integrated into the AGTEK software, allowing for swift and precise progress tracking. This updated information about cut-fill volumes is made readily available to project teams, enhancing decision-making in the field through mobile apps and allowing seamless export to third-party systems. This connectivity ensures that every team member is informed and can make the best possible decisions based on the latest data. Interested? Learn more about Gradework.
