Edit/Entry Mode Keyboard Shortcuts

Restore default viewing parameters.

 

 

 

Arrow Keys

If the Arrow is in the planview window, the arrow keys move the view in the direction indicated on arrow key (pans overlay in opposite direction indicated on arrow key). If the Arrow is in the Point Review List, the arrow keys move the position of the selected point on a currently selected line towards the head or end of the list.

 

 

Number Keys, Period Key

In Entry Mode, numbers and the period key (interpreted as the Daylight Key) are sent to the Current Elevation Entry box at the bottom of the screen.  In Edit Mode, with one line selected and the Arrow located in the Point Review List, the Point Editor displays with the first character typed and allows for the subsequent modification of the elevation for the currently selected point.  

 

 

Shift-Pick

Select more than one line at a time. (Edit Mode)

 

 

Escape

De-selects any previous selected line(s). (Edit Mode)

 

 

Spacebar

Zoom in/out toggle about cursor location (Spacebar Zoom)

 

 

Delete

Deletes currently selected line(s). (Edit Mode)

 

 

Backspace

Backs previously entered points out one at a time. (Entry Mode)

 

 

I

Displays the Length/Area Info for length, plane and slope of the selected line. (Edit Mode)

 

 

R

Allows entry of a fillet during data entry (Entry Mode)

 

 

R,  L

Rotates the terrain view right/left in 45 degree increments. (Edit Mode)

 

 

U,  D

Increases/decreases viewer elevation of terrain. (Edit Mode)

+,  -

Increases/decreases elevation magnification of terrain. (Edit Mode)

 

 

Page Up,

Increases/decreases Planview Scale (Overlay).  (Edit Mode)

Page Down

 

 

 

Insert

In Edit/Entry Mode, inserts image based on the position of the cursor within the limits of the bounding rectangle of the sheet.

 

 

T

Toggles display of 3D Terrain. (Edit Mode)

 

 

O

Toggles display of 2D Planview (Overlay).

 

 

C

Compass cycle (Off, Left, Center, Right).

 

 

G

Displays the previously selected guide.

 

 

Q

Cycles between the various data entry modes. Also see: Status Bar Display

 

 

S

Snap toggle.

 

 

Z

“Sticky zoom” toggle. Use the Page Up/Down keys to zoom around a selected point.

 

 

X

Resets the coordinate system after using F12 function. Also see: Data Orientation

 

 

B

Land/Sky view toggle.  (Edit Mode)

 

 

F1

First Person:  view from inside vehicle.  (Edit Mode)

 

 

F2

Third Person:  view from 50 feet behind vehicle.  (Edit Mode)

 

 

F3

Left Side:  view from 50 feet to left side.  (Edit Mode)

 

 

F4

Right Side:  view from 50 feet to right side.  (Edit Mode)

 

 

F5

In Edit Mode, breaks line nearest to the cursor at a point with the least distance to it.

 

 

F6

In Edit Mode, inserts point on currently selected line.  In Entry Mode, snaps line being entered to anywhere along nearest line and interpolates elevation. In Trace Cross Section mode, snaps line being entered to the nearest line.

 

 

F7

In Edit Mode, reposition point. Selected point will move to the position of the arrow.

 

 

F8

In Edit Mode, when used to click on points, determines the interval between the first two points/lines selected and subsequently assigns values of that interval to successive points/lines.  In Entry Mode, snaps line being entered to point nearest cursor.

 

 

F9

In Edit Mode, assigns elevation of currently selected line(s) by point nearest to the cursor.  In Entry Mode, grabs nearest point and makes its elevation the Current Elevation.

 

 

F10

In Entry Mode, used to assign elevations to Pipe Lines based on depth from the reference surface.

 

 

 

 

F11

Reverses terrain view direction by 180 degree.  (Edit Mode)

 

 

F12

Selects the line to use as a temporary coordinate system. The Q key resets the coordinate system. Also see: Data Orientation

 

 

Alt-B

Displays the Layer Selection dialog.

 

 

Alt-F

Applies a hatch fill pattern to entered areas/regions. See Hatch_Regions

 

 

Alt-H

Hide currently selected line(s)

 

 

Alt-A

Select all lines of the currently selected layer.

 

 

Alt-U

Moves the view angle of terrain Up.  (Edit Mode)

 

 

Alt-D

Moves the view angle of terrain Down.  (Edit Mode)

 

 

Alt-L

Moves the view angle of terrain Left.  (Edit Mode)

 

 

Alt-R

Moves the view angle of terrain Right.  (Edit Mode)

 

 

Alt-P

Sends currently displayed view to Print Preview.

 

 

Alt-V

Hides all background layers.

 

 

Ctrl-A

Send/get annotation to/from toggle.

 

 

Ctrl-C

Copy the selected lines.

 

 

Ctrl-F

Starts the Fillet Line command.

 

 

Ctrl-J

Join (Bridge Gap) currently selected lines.

 

 

Ctrl-M

Move the starting point of a region to the selected point. Also moves the starting point of a data lines that makes an area to the selected point.

 

 

Ctrl-O

Offset Line tool on currently selected line(s).

 

 

Ctrl-L

Select by label.

 

 

Ctrl-S

Swap Ends switches the direction a line was entered.

 

 

Ctrl-T

Breaks all crossing lines at the selected trim line.

 

 

Ctrl-V

Paste the copied lines to the select layer.

 

 

Ctrl-X

Breaks currently selected line at the currently selected point.

 

 

Ctrl-Z

Undo last edit(s) - up to eight stored.

 

 

Ctrl-Y

Redo previously undone edits
