Exporting KMZ Files

The KMZ export is quite powerful and has many options. The file must be geo-referenced by adding benchmarks containing latitude and longitude. Click here to view a short video on geo-referencing the file. When selected the KMZ File Export window displays.

The export options are displayed.

Layer options include all data available in the file. When exported, each layer checked will be added to the KMZ as a separate layer.

Additional KMZ option are described below.

Earthwork

Sitework Report options.

 

 

Volume Report

Exports the Volume Report if file contains Report Regions.

 

 

Balance Report

Exports the Balance Report if the file contains Balance Regions.

 

 

Cut Fill Grid

Options for outputting the cut/fill grid values.

 

 

Yes

Exports the cut/fill grid to the KMZ file

 

 

No

Excludes the cut/fill grid from the KMZ file

 

 

Red/Blue Text

Prints the Cut/Fill values in color.  Value are black by default

 

 

Highway

Highway data options.

 

 

Mass Diagram

Exports the Mass Diagram for the selected alignment.

 

 

Conform KMZ

Options for conforming the data to Google Earth.

 

 

Yes

Conforms the images and data to match the actual distance between the benchmarks

Keeps the scale of the images and data as entered in the job file.

 

 

Image Export

Options for exporting the PDF plan images.

Exports no images to the KMZ file.

 

 

Current

Exports only the current image to the KMZ file.

Exports all the images to the KMZ file.

 

 

KMZ Resolution

Options for setting the resolution of the images in the KMZ file.

 

 

Optimize for Mobile

Optimizes the resolution of the plan sheets when using AGTEK's SmartPlan mobile App.

 

 

High

Exports the images at the highest resolution.

 

 

Medium

Exports the images at the medium resolution. Recommended.

 

 

Low

Exports the images at the lowest resolution. Used if the images are too large to display on Google Earth at higher resolutions.

 

 

Upload to Access

Options for uploading the file to AGTEK Access for use with SmartPlan.

 

 

Yes

Saves the KMZ file and uploads the KMZ file to AGTEK Access for use with SmartPlan.

 

 

No

Saves the KMZ file to the local drive only.


After selecting the data to export, press the Export button. If you chose to upload the file to AGTEK Access, the Choose Access Folder window will display.

Select the project or create a new project. and press OK.
