Adding Arcs/Fillets

The Fillet Line command in Edit Mode is used to add an arc where two surfaces meet, forming a rounded corner. The fillet is a entered with a user-defined radius added between adjoining line segments. The fillet command also available in Entry mode, but is accessed with the R key on the keyboard. Below are directions on adding fillets in both Edit and Entry modes.

Adding a Fillet in Edit Mode

In Edit Mode, the Fillet Line command is used to add a fillet to the corner of two joined line segments. The corner must be on a joined, or continuous line segment for the command to function. The Keyboard shortcut is Ctrl-F.

Select the corner along the line segment where the fillet will be with the Left Mouse button.

Select the Fillet Tool button from the Utility Toolbar. The Edit Fillet Radius window displays.

Change the radius as needed and press the OK button to add the fillet.

Two annotate points are added. One at the previous corner location and one representing the center of the radius. Each point is labeled "Arc Info".

Adding a Fillet in Entry Mode

In Entry Mode, the fillet command is accessed via the R Key on the keyboard. There must be at least two points entered before the fillet command will work.

Enter the first point using the Left Mouse button.

Draw a line and enter another point.

Type R followed by a radius value and move the cross hair to preview the fillet. Any subsequent fillet by pressing the R key will assume the previously used radius value until another R-value is entered.

Press the Left button again to enter the next part of the line and apply the fillet.
