The Dirt.Simple Express - Winter 2023

AGTEK Releases Gradework Version 1.08

AGTEK has recently released Gradework version 1.08. Gradework version 1.08 added several new features to all integrated products for Gradework, Materials, Underground and Highway. New features include significant new options in the Underground module. The Analyze Pipe Conflicts utility will discover any clashes between different classes, identifying any conflict both horizontally and vertically between pipes and laterals. Underground has also added new user defined depth brackets, along with color coded planview colors for each bracket. Gradework has added a new export option for Topcon machine control files. You may now export and import Topcon TP3 files. Watch the video on new features in version 1.08. AGTEK's mobile apps have been updated to add an option to share data.

ANALYZE PIPE CONFLICTS

After your underground takeoff is complete, use the Analyze Pipe Conflicts utility to locate any conflicts between classes of pipes and laterals. Enter any specified margins required by the engineer or municipality. If no margins are entered, conflicts will be based on the pipe dimensions only. The biggest concerns may be the sewer and water lines being too close and requiring special conditions. Vertical conflicts will be marked with a red circle. Horizontal conflicts will be marked with a hatch pattern. The vertical overlap will be displayed in inches or meters.

Export the underground data to your AGTEK mobile apps to see the conflicts onsite.

ANALYZE DEPTH BRACKETS

Gradework Underground has added new user defined depth brackets, along with color coded planview colors for each bracket. Set the desired number of brackets. The interval for each bracket may now be defined separately. You may select a different color for each bracket to be displayed on the planview to show the pipes from shallowest to deepest. Assign distinctive colors to depths that require special attention, such as trench boxes or shoring.

Click the View Depth Brackets button to show the different colors on the planview. If the file contains strata surfaces, click the View Depth Brackets with Strata to show where the pipe will hit the strata surface in different shades of red.

VERSION 1.09 COMING SOON

We are well underway on our next version 1.09, scheduled for release this Spring. Highlights will include further enhancements for grade control modelling, utility clash detection and improved strata mapping amongst other features.

CONEXPO CON/AGG 2023 in Las Vegas

AGTEK will be an exhibitor at this year's CONEXPO in Las Vegas. CONEXPO is North America’s largest construction trade show held every three years in Las Vegas. AGTEK will showcase it's flagship product Gradework for earthwork takeoff, GPS modeling and drone processing. AGTEK will also introduce new and upcoming products for paving and pipe, and enhancements to help close the loop between the field and office with AGTEK mobile apps, SmartPlan, SmartDirt and SmartTrack.

Come visit us on the Hexagon Stand in the North Hall at boothN12325 to see how AGTEK and Hexagon are reimagining digital construction and powering innovation. Our Smart Digital Realities simplify and accelerate data utilisation to make construction ecosystem more connected, more integrated, more autonomous and more sustainable.

Bauma 2022 in Munich, Germany

AGTEK recently attended Bauma, which is the world’s largest Construction Expo, and was a major attraction at the HEXAGON booth. There were nearly 500,000 attendees over the course of a week, with about 3,200 exhibiting from 60 countries. The HEXAGON booth was packed every day and AGTEK got to present to the rest of the world what the U.S. market has known for over 40 years. Easy to say that our DIRT SIMPLE SOLUTIONS, including integrated, Gradework, Materials, Underground and Highway estimating and takeoff software, along with our mobile apps, GPS modeling for Leica, Topcon and Trimble machine control, and drone solutions for tracking production to help Operations, was a huge hit. AGTEK’s Matt Desmond, Andrew Gains, Bill Cope, and Gareth Price, who came over from the UK, delivered non-stop presentations to contractors from all continents over the world with the exception of Antarctica. Our next stop will be at CONEXPO, March 2023 in Las Vegas.

AGTEK Webinars

This year we have been hard at work creating new webinar material to show how to get the most out of your AGTEK software. With current conditions limiting travel for hands-on training, we will continue to reinforce the simplicity of AGTEK products. Replay the topics we have covered recently which include: Creating Compelling Bids with Limited Data, and Fast, Accurate, and Complete Tekeoff from Top to Bottom. Be on the lookout for more coming out in the near future.

CREATING COMPELLING BIDS WITH LIMITED DATA

When presented with limited information, AGTEK provides tools to quickly and accurately understand project constraints, create a constructible model and submit an accurate bid. This webinar demonstrates how to understand project feasibility and optimize the design with value engineering. We show how to minimize import/export and understand material quantities and create compelling bidding documents.

FAST, ACCURATE, AND COMPLETE TAKEOFF FROM TOP TO BOTTOM

This webinar shows how to use Materials first and only ever enter data once. We show how to calculate earthwork volumes and get to subgrade with ease. We will help you understand utility construction and avoid pipe conflicts. We show how to evaluate bid alternates with value engineering and create engaging and professional bidding documents.
